Haywood County citizens have voted on the news reporter with the most lies, and Cory Villaincourt, reporter with the Tabloid Smoky Mountain News, gets the award for 2025. The majority of citizens hate this reporter because he will never report truth. He is the political reporter for the Tabloid Smoky Mountain News and he hates Republicans, so he'll never write a fair article, since he's a known radical left communist. Cory has written articles in eighteen issues of the Tabloid Smoky Mountain News quoting lies about Terry Ramey's taxes. Cory and four Haywood County Commissioners partnered together, forming an illegal quorum, to personally attack Terry Ramey, from the day he was elected, because he beat their buddy Kirk Kirkpatrick in a fair election. Commissioner Kevin Ensley sent an e-mail to Cory, stating, "Cory, see answers in red bold print to your questions below. The response is from four commissioners (Tommy, Brandon, Jennifer and me) that you sent the e-mail to. All are in agreement". Every single commissioner knew Terry Ramey was in good standing with the Haywood County Tax Office, because he set up a payment plan with interest, on his $2,000 taxes he was unable to pay in one lump sum. Terry was bullied by these county commissioners because he wasn't in their income bracket, so they didn't believe he should be a county commissioner. They even asked citizens to come to the county commissioner meeting and ask him to resign. The actions of the incumbent commissioners caused a three-year attack from Cory Villaincourt at Smoky Mountain News on Terry Ramey's taxes, that were paid off in the first three months of Commissioner Terry Ramey's term. Cory Villaincourt and these commissioners are personally responsible for a sign that appeared around Hazelwood slandering Commissioner Terry Ramey because, no matter who put the signs out, these people started the rumors and lies. Cory Villaincourt wrote on his personal facebook page, he would like to interview the person who put out the signs because Terry was late on his taxes.
